  Casie Omundson Girl Scout Leader

Hello. My name is Casie. Above you see a photo of me with my son Ian.
I have been with my husband Kevin for 13 years and we have 6 wonderful kids!

We have a 16 year old son and 5 younger adopted children whom we adopted from CPS, Arizona. They are 7,6,5,4, and 3 years old. I have 3 boys and 3 girls.

While they keep me busy, I love to be very involved with them.

I help my husband coach the boy’s soccer team and with the girls, I'm their Girl Scout leader so I plan to be a leader for many more years :)

Which means, no matter the age of your child, she can stay with me as her leader for until she graduates from High School.

I plan the meetings for the year

I plan the field trips for the year

I plan the service projects for the year

I plan the crafts for the year

I purchase the uniforms for the year

I am the cookie mom

I attend monthly Service Team Meetings

I do the financial planning

I purchase the badges we’ll be doing for the year

I do the newsletter

I do the recruiting

I involve the girls in identifying, developing, and implementing their own plans.

I communicate regularly with the troop/group parents and volunteers, and encourage them to become involved.

Maintain positive relations with others, and resolve conflicts with others promptly and directly with a positive approach.

Training

Besides being CPR certified I have also done the following training to be your leader. This training expires each year.

(1) ORIENTATION (3 hours)– introduction to Girl Scouts, history, goals, safety-wise procedures, parent meeting, registration, etc.

 (2) THE BASICS (3 hours) – Basic Leader’s training

(3) LEVEL TRAINING (3 hours) – specific training to the Girl Scout level you work with I attend monthly meetings that run roughly 60 minutes.

(4)   Fall Product Training

(5)  Cooking Training

(6)  Monthly Meetings I attend monthly meetings that run roughly 60 minutes

I am willing to undertake additional training opportunities as required or recommended.

I become familiar with the written and visual resources available including the Leaders Guide and program level materials.

I encourage girl troop/group participation in Service Unit, and Council wide activities.

As you can see I do a lot, but I love it! Because of all of this I am always seeking volunteers to help out so if you’d like to help, please feel free to come to me and let’s discuss what your areas are!

Without the support from the parents, we really don’t have a troop!
