Thinking Day is the birthday of
both Lord Robert Baden-Powell, founder of Boy Scouts, and his wife Lady Olave
Baden-Powell, the World Chief Guide. Robert Baden-Powell and his sister Agnes
started the first troop of Boy Scouts & Girl Guides. Thinking Day has
become a day for Girl Scouts and Girl Guides all over the world to think about
one another.
Girl Scouts of the USA's Birthday March 12
On March 12, 1912, Juliette Low
and two other women met with 18 girls to form the first Girl Scout troop in the
United States.
Girl Scouts celebrate this anniversary of the first Girl Scout meeting for an
entire week. The week in which March 12 falls is recognized as Girl Scout
week.
